Shelley Westbrook has been a Garland 911
Dispatcher for the past thirteen years. Her
only child Cameron, 16yrs old, recently
became ill from a viral infection that
attacked his heart and caused it to enlarge
and not function properly. The damage caused
by the infection is irreversible and he can
only be healed by receiving a heart
transplant. His condition is so dire that
it keeps him from going home until a donor
is available. Therefore, he remains
hospitalized in ICU at Children's Medical
Center until the transplant occurs. The
desperate urgency of this situation is such
that his name was placed at the very top of
the transplant list for the entire northern
section of Texas. Shelley has nearly
exhausted all leave available to her and is
trying to work an alternate shift in order
to receive a paycheck. His health insurance
will soon cap out as well. Donation
containers have been placed in each break
room in the police department and in the
Patrol room in hopes of others being
generous enough to help ease the financial
burden placed upon Shelley during this time
of need.
The account is at Texans Credit Union in the
name of Shelley or Cameron Westbrook. You
can send the checks to Kristi Orman, and
also use her as a contact person.
